Web Site for Business
Do you need a web site for your business?
Many business owners would like to have a website for their business but it is just one of those things that will happen someday, but someday never comes.
Others have a web site but it hasn’t been updated for months even dare say years. There are many reasons for this.
In the past you needed to learn to code HTML or at the very least learn how to use a web authoring program like Front-Page, DreamWeaver or some other program that made setting up a web site so much easier, but there still was that big learning curve.
I know, I used DreamWeaver to lay-up and maintain our web site for years. It took a lot of motivation and planning to first get everything together on my local computer. Then import everything into DreamWeaver edit and tweak some times for hours on one page. Then I had to fire up the FTP program upload the HTML file that I created in DreamWeaver to the web-server. Then open web browser check the page and find that it did look anything like it was supposed to or it just did load up at all. Then re-edit re-upload over and over until it came out right.
Of course the more that I did that, the easier it became and after a while I could put up a new page in about 20 minutes. But I found that if I didn’t use the program for a while, I would forget things and when it was time to edit or create a new page it was almost like learning the whole program over again. If I could not block off at least a 2 hour time slot the web site just did not get updated or edited.
Several months I discovered Wordpress. Wordpress is a FREE web authoring platform that loads right on your web-server. Once loaded you don’t need any software to work on your web site. You can add and edit pages on the fly from any computer with access to the Internet.
There are so many benefits to using Wordpress for your business web site, it has been able to do almost everything that I have needed on the other sites that I use it on and I am finally getting around to switching this site over to Wordpress. I pulled the plug on our traditional web site http://WesmanDesigns.com on June 10, 2009 and redirected it hear to this site.
I believe in Wordpress so much that I hope to develop this entire section of this site to helping you discover the benefits of operating your business web site using Wordpress along with some plug-ins and an auto-responder.
Don’t worry if you don’t know what some of the above means. In the coming days and weeks I hope to write and find articles… video and audios to help explain everything that you need to know.
